Mei Yu's virtual author visit for the TPL author visit.

Mei had a virtual author visit for the Toronto Public Library (TPL) to talk about her art journey and her graphic novel memoir Lost & Found: Based on a True Story. She also talked about her second graphic novel, Best Friend, Worst Bully: Based on a True Story and showed attendees how to draw Meiow, Mei's cat BFF from her book. Multiple schools attended the event.

Mei Yu's virtual author visit for the TDSB's Chinese Heritage Month event.

Mei gave a much-anticipated virtual author presentation and drawing workshop about her graphic novel memoir Lost & Found: Based on a True Story for the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) Chinese Heritage Month in 2026. About 5,000 students attended Mei's presentation.

Mei is very happy to be part of TDSB's Chinese Heritage Month - thank you to the amazing committee at TDSB for putting together a wonderful event.

Mei had a virtual author session with the District School Board of Niagara for their DSBN Writes event in 2025, where she talked about her graphic novel memoir Lost & Found: Based on a True Story and gave a drawing demo on Meiow, Mei's cat BFF from her book. Over 50 schools watched Mei's presentation.

Mei had a virtual author visit at the FOLD (Festival of Literary Diversity) Kids Book Fest 2025 titled "The Making of a Graphic Novel with Mei Yu", where she gave an author presentation and drawing demo featuring her graphic novel memoir Lost & Found: Based on a True Story. She was also one of three illustrators in the festival's fun Illustrator Battle.

Mei is honored to be a part of the FOLD Kids Book Fest and working with the wonderful team, staff, volunteers, and fellow authors who were a part of this event! Thank you for promoting the love of books!

Mei Yu was the keynote speaker for Vancouver Public Library (VPL)'s Writing and Book Camp 2025. She talked about her art journey, the creation process behind her award-winning debut graphic novel memoir Lost & Found: Based on a True Story, voice acted part of her book, and hosted a fun, creative activity.

Mei Yu had the great pleasure to meet all you participants and chat with and autograph for some of you. Hope this event inspires you to achieve your own goals!

Mei Yu's debut graphic novel memoir, Lost & Found: Based on a True Story, won Canada's Forest of Reading's Silver Birch Express Award for 2025!
